A portrait miniature of Mary Viscountess Dillon née Rogier, wearing a blue and yellow dress over her white chemise, her dress and powdered hair decorated with strands of pearls.
Watercolour on ivory, signed on the obverse and dated, HH/ 1787, gold frame, the reverse with a glazed compartment containing plaited hair, within a surround of blue glass.

Notes…The sitter married Charles, 12th Viscount Dillon (1745-1813) of Lough Glynn House, Ireland and Ditchley House, Oxfordshire in 1787 as his second wife. Charles had two children from a previous marriage and in 1787 had a daughter, Charlotte with Mary.
